In times of chaos and confusion people long for some kind of order or plan. This may manifest as continued blind faith and adoration in our incompetent and cruel leaders; it may manifest in the belief that some evil genius, like Bill Gates, has orchestrated this whole situation; it may even manifest in the emergence of some kind of religion or belief system (fuck off David Icke). People cannot cope with the fact that it is chaos at work here.
Yes, there is little doubt that the powers that be, whether government or corporation, will feed on the chaos and use it to push through their own agenda. But it is chaos. Of course it doesn’t have to be this way if we transform our world into a caring and co-operative place for humans and non-humans alike….
BTW I am staying home and practicing strict precautions not because the UK government has told me to do so but because it is the right thing to do and because I am lucky enough to not be a front line worker.
